United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Kenya in partnered
with Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), the African
Center for Technology Studies (ACTS) and the Association of Countrywide
Innovation Hubs, for a report on the ‘Mapping of the Kenyan Innovations Ecosystem’,
that emphasized Kenya’s robust steps to harness the immense technological innovation
opportunities that promise significant and
sustainable economic gains.
About the Report.
The report consisted of five chapters. After chapter one, which is introduction, the report has three chapters on key findings. Chapter two provides an overview of the Kenyan innovation ecosystem based on the desk study undertaken. Chapters three and four presents the results from field data collection, with chapter three focusing on the characteristics of the innovators and start-ups while chapter four covers the hubs, incubators, accelerators, and innovation labs as well as other support agencies. Finally, chapter five provides conclusions and recommendations based on the study findings.
